Casa Albertí is located on a quiet street in the historic centre of the town, in an 18th century manor house built in Enlightenment-era Mahon, the liberal Mahon under British sovereignty which saw the first printing presses and Masonic lodges. In the dynamic Mahon of merchants, craftsmen, shipowners, owners and craftsmen. In the Mahon which marked the Age of Enlightenment with its highly particular local identity and was already receiving a strong influence from around the world. In the erudite Mahon of the Arts, with its opera house and its own dramatic movement, plenty of history and countless stories.
The location and dimensions of our rooms follow the lines of the original structure of the house, meaning that each one is unique and has its own specific character. There are rooms which are ideal for families, couples, expansive people and guests who like more secluded and romantic spaces. All the beds are very comfortable and the decoration combines natural fabrics and vintage furniture to make each room a truly welcoming space.
For cooler days we have heating and on hot days when even the cross ventilation of the open windows fails to provide relief, there is air conditioning.
And at the top of the stairs that seem to lead to the heavens: the roof terrace, the ‘belvedere’ looking out on the most wonderful sunrises, the rooftops, the bell towers, the palaces and the port of Mahon. Luxury for all the senses. And in the mornings... that inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee and warm toast.
Fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt, Minorcan honey, a variety of breads, cheeses and sausages, potato omelette, organic jams, typical pastries from the island, freshly squeezed juice, coffee, tea and a variety of types of milk. We try to ensure that everything is a Minorcan and organic product, we care about supporting local producers offering “km0” produce.
We are aware that we have guests with allergies or intolerances, so we can adapt our offering to any and all needs. And we do so with pleasure.
Breakfast is served first thing in the morning in the kitchen, the heart of every home.
To the wild beaches of the north: Es Grau, El Pilar, Cavalleria, Cala Tortuga, Cala Presili or Sa Mesquida, to the turquoise-tinted coves of the south: Son Bou, Atalis, Cala Rafalet, Ses Olles, Cala Mitjana or Binigaus. And to many inland and coastal paths such as the 186 km ‘Camí de Cavalls’ that runs around the perimeter of the island. We will help you to find the version of Minorca you want to get to know: the more typical and popular side or the wilder and more hidden side. Airport, port or bus station... everything is just a stone’s throw away from Casa Albertí, within a 10-minute radius.
