All these rooms unmistakably remind us that we are in Minorca. Whether it’s the exposed wooden structure we see when we lie in bed and look up at the ceiling, or the adobe floors that cool our bare feet in summer, or the nooks and crannies under the stairs, hiding places from back when we were kids, or the white light that streams through the windows when we draw the curtains in the morning. Open your eyes and consider how much you really truly enjoy the little things. The things that often go unnoticed.

You are in a room flanked by large windows that open out on old fashioned interior patios, full of fresh plants which let the light filter tentatively through the leaves. Its high ceilings and original hydraulic floors give it that contained and discreet elegance characteristic of the houses of the Enlightenment era Mahon of the 18th century.
Room on the first floor characterised by its warmth and light. Laid out under a ceiling with antique hand-painted beams, which give it a cosy charm. It is ideal for two people, lovers, friends, acquaintances or whatever, since the beds can be set up as doubles or singles.
Small and welcoming, it has everything it needs and not one thing it doesn’t. This room embraces us as if its function were to keep us away from the mundane noise and from those things that throw us off us so that we can find our centre again. It’s both inspiring and peaceful. A peaceful haven.
As soon as you enter, you feel its warmth. A room where you’ll want to spend time, enjoy and relax. Its antique Minorcan honey-coloured furniture makes you feel at home. It is one of our most spacious rooms, so if there are three of you instead of two, you won’t feel cramped. The bathroom follows the same lines, cosy and with a large shower, the kind where two can shower properly.
In the bedroom and, above all, in the bathroom, you can admire the structure of exposed wooden beams and trusses of a calibre that would be unthinkable these days, all of which support the roof of this old house. The comfort of a contemporary room with the accents that remind us that we are in an 18th century manor house and just how solid it is! The western light in this room is truly lovely... and the bathroom is an ode to the ‘toilette’, meaning the dressing table where one cleans and dresses.
Is it cosy? Yes, it has a sloping roof and exposed wooden beams. Is it spacious? Yes, it contains everything it needs and still has enough space so you can break into a dance, a yoga session or a massage in the bedroom. Does it receive a lot of light? Yes, it has a large south-facing window. The beauty of a space that is not trying too hard.
Perfect for a ‘reset’, or ‘disconnecting in order to reconnect’.
The entrance to this room is triumphant: the view over our flower-filled patio, like a huge canvas that illuminates the room. You can see, but you can’t be seen, so relax and make yourself comfortable and, above all, enjoy a room decorated minimally, but just right. So all that energy can flow unhindered.
Some are ideal for families and also for couples. Some are for expansive people who seek lots of room and others for people who prefer more secluded and romantic spaces. And some, of course, are for our solo travellers, because whether you want to be alone or you want company, Casa Albertí will always be the home you want it to be.
